To be able to pump water into the industrial boilers, the head generated by the pump must be efficient enough to exceed the pressure generated by the boiler itself. Additionally, to render the water-steam transformation process more effective, very high temperature water of well over 100°C must be introduced.

In the case of this plant, a sugar factory in the PHILIPPINES where safety had to be ensured within harsh operating conditions, a multistage pump was developed and then produced, equipped with a combination of “ad hoc” materials both in terms of castings and sealing gaskets.

The ‘beach well’ wells for lifting up seawater destined for the desalination plant constitute an efficacious solution which boosts the quality of the water entering the desalinator thanks to natural filtration enacted by the sand.

They are utilised in countries where water scarcity renders desalination an important source of water supply, as is the case with this plant in OMAN.

Challenging operating conditions here – stemming from the corrosive effect of water with elevated rates of salination in conjunction with sand acting as an abraisive – mean that machines made with highly resistant materials are all the more necessary.

An in-depth study conducted with internal engineering and production departments has led to the production of high flow rate borehole electric pumps constructed entirely from Superduplex steel and endowed with special surface treatments to render them not only excellent in terms of performance, but immune to external agents and able to guarantee the contunuity of service this important application requires.

When installing a wind turbine at sea, it is necessary to pump pressurised water on the seabed while anchoring the pillars of the supporting platform.

This is an absolutely extreme application for a jetting pump installed on board a service plarform. In order to overcome hydrostatic pressure due to the depth at which the installation takes place and the need to pierce the seabed, the jetting pump must deliver exceedingly high head while being subjected to the aggressivity of the seawater.

n order to withstand the challenging operating conditions seen in this plant in CHINA, multistage high pressure pumps with castings and components made entirely of Duplex steel were researched and developed. Completing this provision, borehole pumps in marine bronze for water supply, equipped with stainless steel motors and water resistant power cables were supplied.

All machines provided were certified by the notified body CCS Marine which validated the project and its production process, also attending the end-of-line functional testing.
