Maari Platform
New Zealand
Fixing a platform to the seabed
Prior situation
In the constuction and installation of a new oil rig off the west coast of an island north of New Zealand, Caprari was trusted with the difficult and delicate task of fixing a platform to the seabed.
Caprari solution
Caprari supplied the pumps, designed and manufactured the control and data registration systems, installed the equipment into the platform during construction in Malaysia, and subsequently operated the base pumping system during the offshore installation phase.
The system makes use of timely monitoring to ensure correct evacuation of the water flow from the base cavity. This evacuation must correspond exactly to the speed at which the base is rised. Responsibility for this fundamental function of evacuating water from the base was subcontracted to Caprari Pumps Austalia Pty Ltd.
Benefit obtained
Thanks to the products supplied by Caprari, the installation was a complete success, with 100% base penetraion to fix the platform to the seafloor.
